While on our family holiday in New York we were checking out Washington square park, just came across this place while looking for lunch and was blown away. The food was great, prices are super affordable, and the service was outstanding. We truly connected with Julia our waitress. She was quick and so sweet. A true highlight experience of our week here and would tell anyone in the area to check it out for an amazing atmosphere, great food, and service with a smile. Thank you -

Ashley is an awesome, attentive bartender and the grilled cheese here is one of the best I've ever had. Very grateful they serve some non alcoholic beer here too (Athletic)

Great service, tasty brunch, delicious drink menu. Roomy atmosphere and lots of indoor and outdoor seating where you're not on top of eachother. Evy was awesome as our server and took great care of us.

Celebrated my friend’s birthday and it was one of the best times ever!!! The host at the door and our server were beyond lovely! The food was heavens along with the drinks!! The atmosphere was super vibey!! It is very hard to find a place that checks all the boxes here in Manhattan! ✌🏼 I am definitely going to back to taste every single dish on the menu and will bring friends along! Thank you to the White Oak Tavern crew for the best night!!!! 🫶🏼I will be back!😍

We came here because we live nearby and were too lazy to go far given we were up from 4am for the Macy's Parade. Therefore, no real expectations. But White Oak is fantastic! Surprised people don't talk about it more. The food is great and not that expensive relative for these sorts of things in Manhattan. The Mac n Cheese was 🔥 and the Thanksgiving Turkey special was spectacular. French onion soup was solid but probably the least exciting dish. Service was good, cocktails sharp and the drinks selection broad. Decor within the venue was beautiful as well. Will have to turn this into my local go to!

Tara was excellent. We found her to be pleasant friendly and a genuine person. She is an excellent bartender. Skilled and in control. It was busy, and she handled making drinks for her wait staff and her quests seated at the bar with poise. The food was good and the drinks were great. We also had one of the large pretzels while we waited for our burgers and salads. All very good. The restaurant is both beautiful inside and out. I loved the retro look of this place. The restrooms are well kept and feature individual stalls with real doors. White Oak Tavern is also located a few steps away from Washington Square Park.

This place is awesome. Great beer selection and a fantastic atmosphere. Had the Porto sandwich and the pot pie. The Porto was delicious but a little small. The pot pie was delicious but needs a bit more salt. But overall, I will be coming back again.

If you're looking for an intimate, affordable wedding venue, I highly recommend The White Oak Tavern. My son and his bride had their first date there, and a year later, when they decided to get married, they wondered if the restaurant would host their small ceremony. To our delight, The White Oak Tavern said yes! With only eight people in attendance—bride and groom, officiant and her husband, parents of the groom, and mother and sister of the bride—the ceremony was held on a charming little stage at the front of the restaurant. The officiant, bride, and groom stood on the stage, while the rest of us watched from the other side of the railing. It was an intimate, heartfelt occasion. After the vows and the magical "You may kiss the bride" moment, we took photographs and enjoyed a delicious meal in the very spot where their first date had taken place. The food was excellent, the service outstanding, and the whole experience was incredibly affordable. For just $1000, which included a $250 charge for reserving the private space for the ceremony, it was a day to remember without breaking the bank. The White Oak Tavern made their special day perfect!

We had a great experience. Our chicken pot pie came out a little cool but they made it right. The salmon was delicious and well prepared. The kids loved the burgers. The drinks were well prepared. Highly recommended.

Great place with awesome food. Came in a weekday afternoon and it wasn’t crowded as it gets on weekends. Ordered a chicken burger which was pretty epic. The Sangria (Foxy Sangria) was one of the best I’ve tasted in a while. Thanks Matt at the bar for great service! Keep it up guys, will visit again.

Kerry was fantastic, super helpful and great. overall awesome experience here. we got to choose our table, received a student discount, and had top notch eats! to top it off, the hospitality was great. couldn’t recommend this place more. highly recommend! (P.S. Kerry takes great photos!)
