This place is proper Italian. Good neighborhood vibe. Beautiful sunset view. Great price for the service, atmosphere & food. I think the meatballs as a appetizer stood out the most. Def get those. Good music. Def coming back for some Casual Italian with a view. Thanks Piatto!

First time visiting Piatto over the weekend for brunch. Very nice menu with many options. Our server was friendly but the service was a little too slow for what we ordered. Our burgers were cooked medium well, instead of medium but still very tasty! Update: tried dinner, food was tasty. Bolognese well done.

I took my mom to Piatto for her Birthday. She loves Italian food, isn't too far from my home, close to the river and dog friendly. Service is good and makes my mom very happy. We start with Grilled Octopus, Crab Cake and fried Calamari & Zucchini. For the second course, we have Seafood risollto, Branzino Puttanesca, Linguini with Clams and Chicken Milanese. My mom loves that pasta and rice cook al dente. We choose to sit outside because we have our dog joining the party. Outside seating has a roof so even it was a bit drizzling, we sit there comfortably. I'm happy that they didn't forget to give my mom a candle for her birthday cake (Tiramisu) I wish they have more dessert wine but at least I enjoy Prosecco.

Just an aweful experience across the board. Would heavily encourage folks to go anywhere else in the neighborhood before here - don't let the waterfront location fool you. When we first got there it was moderately busy but got seated right away. Our server came by but would only look and talk to me and not my wife - was a very odd dynamic, even when she asked questions he was hesitant to look at her. But we laughed it off and moved on, then the food started to arrive. They bring complimentarily bread to the table which is nice - was probably one of the tastier elements of the meal. We ordered the fried calimari and zucchini app and it looked good when it arrived but once you try it the calimari was extremely overcooked to the point it was unenjoyable to eat - think super super chewy. Once we were done, it took over 10-15m for a server or busser to clear the appetizer plate. Then the mains arrived, I got the seafood fra diavlo (seafood pasta) based on the recommendation of our server, and my wife got the salmon special. The seafood pasta was truly aweful - the calimari again was extremely overcooked and this time I just didn't eat it and picked it out, the sauce was very fishy/briney and similar to a soup consistency, the shrimp were actually fairly tasty. The salmon was a tad overcooked but still tasty, however it came with a potato gratin (layers of potato and cheese) and the middle of it was completely uncooked. The potato was not even warm and the cheese was completely unmelted. Once we "finished" our meals it took over 15m for someone to come by and take away our plates and then another 10 for our server to come by and offer dessert if the cheque... We then saw he was sitting behind a pillar on his phone at times. Overall the meal with tax and tip and no drinks was $95... Hands down one of the worst meals I've had for that price in a long time. Would highly recommend folks go elsewhere.

The wood fire pizzas are really delicious. They have authentic Italian pizza taste. The marinara sauce was tangy and made in house, the dough was crusty and crispy. I thought that the cheese lacked a bit of a punch compared to some other Italian places I went to. But I can recommend their pizzas easily. The lycheetini was delicious. Great summer cocktail. We sat outside and had a great view of the Pier and the skyline.

Waiter seated a group of four of us outside. 2 of us got up to go inside the restroom and the manager said we have to have a table first. I said we do, outside. He then said we have to sit down first. I told him we did and 2 other guests are sitting at our table outside. He continued saying we can't use the restroom until he sees us sitting down first. He then said he doesn't want our business and we left. Horrible manager. He insulted us with Racial remarks about how we were dressed and looked. Worst customer service I ever experienced.

One of the best Italian style pizza I’ve had in NYC so far. They have good cocktails as well. Friendly service combined with nice views of Manhattan make it a perfect place for dinner :)
